I am from Lafayette, Louisiana. I attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where I received a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. During this time, I worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Dr. Karen Smith's lab, characterizing maternal behaviors and interpreting dietary effects on cell types present in the hypothalamus. 

 

I am currently working in Dr. Sayre's lab studying the neural mechanisms underlying adult neurogenesis and the relation to Alzheimer's Disease. 

 

Some of my hobbies include painting, reading, and puzzling.
